Among other skills and experience,Martin is a climate resilience and sustainability expert with over 10 years of experience working with rural communities in Kenya. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Environmental Science at Egerton University: Additionally, he is also the Mentoring Research Program Fellow with the International Support Network for African Development (ISNAD) working on Energy Science and Rural Sociology.

Martin has extensive local knowledge promoting sustainability practices such as ecotourism, organic production methods and renewable energy technology use in communities. In recognition of these efforts, he is a recipient of the Ecotourism Kenya EcoWarrior Award for working with communities in Kilifi and Taita-Taveta counties, in Kenya, developing high revenue low cost tourism circuits. This work has earned him a research grant from Egerton University to Develop an Ecotourism Database. Among other achievements, Martin was part of the core team from Egerton University that developed the Seeds of Gold Farmer’s Magazine in Partnership with the Nation Newspaper.

Currently Martin is working on Organic Value Chain efficiency enhancement to create more value for consumers while empowering farmers to participate in formal market systems.
