KOAN provides technical advice, training, promotion and business support in the areas of:

Issuance and governance of East Africa Organic Mark (Kilimohai Mark).
KOAN creates public awareness on the benefits of organic agriculture and promotion of Kilimohai Mark.
In Liaison with universities and research institutions, KOAN validates, documents and disseminates key research findings in organic agriculture.
KOAN lobbies and participates in the formulation and implementation of pro-organic Agriculture policies.

KOAN provides certification and guarantee of organic products, using the East Africa Organic Products Standards (EAOPS).
KOAN provides a national resource center for organic agriculture information regarding all aspects of production, processing, certification and marketing.
KOAN provides accreditation of trainers, training institutions, local inspectors and certification bodies
