With over five years of hands-on experience, she has successfully led and managed diverse Kilimohai-organic projects, ensuring their success through strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring. Her ability to refine organizational procedures and streamline project execution has been instrumental in enhancing efficiency and impact within the organic agriculture sector. With a background in Business Information Technology, Sylvia seamlessly integrates agro-technology, digital innovations, and management expertise into organic farming and value chain development. She possesses in-depth knowledge of agronomy, crop management, integrated pest control, and value addition, equipping her with the skills to support farmers in adopting best practices that enhance productivity while preserving environmental integrity. As a certified organic inspector, PGS trainer, and assessor, Sylvia plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with organic standards and facilitating participatory guarantee systems. Her expertise has contributed significantly to key initiatives, including the development of the Machakos Organic Farmers Cooperative Society’s business model and the establishment of a processing plant for the Yatta Multipurpose Farmers’ Cooperative Society in Matuu-Yatta. Sylvia has cultivated strong relationships with farmers, local communities, government agencies, and stakeholders, fostering knowledge exchange and capacity-building. She actively facilitates workshops, training sessions, and outreach programs, empowering communities with the necessary skills to embrace organic agriculture and sustainable food systems.
